Become a Mentor
MAXMINDS 2.0 is a program dedicated to supporting researchers who are in acute danger of displacement by war or were recently displaced by war or natural disasters, regardless of nationality, and who have limited access to resources and institutional support. As a MAXMINDS mentor, you can help a colleague continue their research under challenging circumstances.

What mentoring involves
Mentoring is one-on-one and takes place online. It lasts at least four months and can be extended. You’ll meet once a month at a time arranged flexibly between you and your mentee. What you’ll work on depends on your mentee's needs and your shared interests: this may include finding and applying for positions, scholarships, fellowships and research stays; feedback on CVs and research proposals; introductions within your academic network; advice on staying scientifically active. The MAXMINDS team will support you throughout.
Who can become a mentor
Current and former researchers at Max Planck Institutes in any field. Mentees come from a wide range of disciplines and we aim to match them with someone who knows their field.
